"Campy" 80s Horror Movies

It's that time of year again, time for summer camp ! That means chiggers, poison ivy, campfire games and of course slashers killing innocent campers with all manners of camping instruments ! Here are three of my favorite summer camp related Horror Movies from the 1980s in no particular order, I didn't include any of the Friday The 13th only because everyone knows about those.

  1. I kept telling people back in the day about the um....surprise ending in "Sleepaway Camp" but nobody ever believed me. Finally when I arranged a screening (not an easy feat at the time of being 12)we wore out the VHS tape rewinding the ending!

  2. Sleepaway Camp has the best twist ending ever. My wife had never seen the film and I kept telling her she needed to see it. It took a while but I finally convinced her to watch it with me. I never told her about the twist ending and the look on her face was PRICELESS!

  3. Sleepaway Camp had/has the BEST ending ever. :) Also The Burning was quite awesome...I saw back in 2006 during the summer time & became a classic slasher 80s flick for me. Awesome list!
